At the centre of the story…..
I first encountered Ceci Meza while walking off the beach in Zipolite, Oaxaca. It started with her laugh—the wildest, most infectious sound I’d ever heard. She appeared just hours after a series of musical revelations, a “sacred download” that felt like the trumpets of angels. There she was on the sand, as if she were somehow an intrinsic part of the landscape. I swear it happened just like that… unless it was all a dream? Was it?
But it wasn’t, because three years later, that unmistakable laugh has been immortalised in “Your Comfort Zone.” Ceci is truly one of a kind. She features on four tracks—Vamos A Nadar, You Are The Revolution, Tolerancia and Resist, Push Back — where her voice serves as her persona in audio form.
I knew the music would never have been complete without her. This girl from Mexico City just happened to be on the beach that day, and her presence completed the most bizarre 24 hours of my life. A new musical work was born on that beach and somehow…. Ceci Meza was central to it all. La chaparrita risueña..

Conocí a Ceci Meza cuando iba saliendo de la playa en Zipolite, Oaxaca. Todo empezó con su risa: el sonido más salvaje y contagioso que jamás había escuchado. Apareció apenas unas horas después de una serie de revelaciones musicales, una especie de “descarga sagrada” que sentí como trompetas de ángeles. Ahí estaba ella, sobre la arena, como si fuera una parte intrínseca del paisaje. Te juro que así fue como pasó… ¿o será que todo fue un sueño? ¿Lo fue?
Pero no, no lo fue, porque tres años después, esa risa inconfundible ha quedado inmortalizada en “Your Comfort Zone”. Ceci es verdaderamente única en su clase. Participa en cuatro temas —Vamos A Nadar, You Are The Revolution, Tolerancia y Resist, Push Back— donde su voz se convierte en su propia esencia hecha audio.
Supe de inmediato que la música nunca habría estado completa sin ella. Esta chica de la Ciudad de México simplemente estaba en la playa ese día, y su presencia completó las 24 horas más extrañas de mi vida. Una nueva obra musical nació en esa playa y, de alguna manera… Ceci Meza fue el corazón de todo.

Announced, ‘Your Comfort Zone’ to be released 4th July
This is the first studio album by Peyoti for President in a dam long time and is already being heralded as a classic by certain voices who have heard it. Written in Mexico and recorded mainly in southern Portugal this is a production collaboration and the results are nothing short of stunning. We are all very excited to show you the results!!

It has been used by DemocracyNow TV as part of their featured content, & has become the weekly theme tune of UK’s Crispin Flintoff Show.
The song became part of the Global Sumud Flotilla official PR campaign on social media for the UK & Spain.

New Single – Vamos A Nadar
Long awaited new single for summer 2023, Vamos A Nadar!
We’re super stoked to announce this. Ceci Meza , or good friend from Mexico City provided the charismatic vocals on this, the first new music by Peyoti in a while!
“Vamos A Nadar” is the new single by Peyoti For President, written and composed by Peyoti and co-produced by Portuguese-based producer Marc Mennigmann. The song was written during a three-month visit to Mexico, the land of the mescaline Peyote cactus, and is a bouncy, tequila-fueled slice of uptempo world groove.
The track brings the sound of dance floor “cumbia” Mexicana-style to the streets for summer 2023, with a truly unforgettable keyboard hook that is guaranteed to be your earworm for Summer. It features the vocal magic of lovely, albeit slightly loca Ceci Meza, who was born and raised in Mexico City.
Following in the footsteps of artists like Manu Chao, whom Peyoti once performed with as UK tour support, “Vamos A Nadar” is a unique blend of new world groove and dancehall, combining sensual lyrics and spiritual counsel. It’s not often that you find both elements in the same song!
