The story so far…

Influenced by The Clash, Ojos de Brujo & Manu Chao the original London based collective create a fusion of Ska, Reggae & Latin (various) with punk attitude that sometimes uses political/social conscience lyrics. Originally formed as a trio including Ulisses, the son of Bezerra Da Silva & headed by anglo/Italian Peyoti himself. Peyoti For President released their debut single on 9/11, 2008 followed quickly by the album, Rising Tide of Conformity in 2009, riding the tide of tour support collaboration with Manu Chao, La Radiolina Tour. Their album received critical acclaim with 5 star reviews – Independent, Metro Life, Time Out and Rolling Stone. 2010 would be a monumental year playing many prestigious festivals and underground venues including Glastonbury , Rockwave and Przystanek Woodstock 2010 where they took main-stage. Peyoti left London the following year only to reform the band with new members in Barcelona. New recordings followed in 2014 in the shape of Who Am I? the title track being a reflection on Peyoti’s own adoption and search for identity with lyrics partly in Italian, the video being shot in Bogota, Colombia. The latest EP, Suffragette City, 2021 is a tribute to David Bowie released 5 years since his untimely death & 50th anniversary of the song The Man Who Sold The World. Currently the bands song, Yo No Quiero Trabajar is featured in the Netflix series Gentefied and a new album is in progress, being written in part in Mexico for release 2022!
